Alan Chu, the youngest son of Chu Ming, was born in São Paulo in 1976. He graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from FAU Mackenzie in 2001 and, in 2004, opened his office together with architect Cristiano Kato in São Paulo.
From 2010 to 2022, he worked with architect Isay Weinfeld, acting in recent years as head of the office's creative team and developing numerous projects of great international relevance, such as the Santos Augusta Building in São Paulo, the Jardim Building, a residential project in Chelsea, New York, and the La Petite Afrique Building in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
From 2015 to 2019, he lived and worked between São Paulo and Alto Paraíso de Goiás, in the Chapada dos Veadeiros, during which he developed several projects in nature, including the Casa da Mangueira, a family residence and boutique hotel.
In 2022, he inaugurated his Architecture Studio in Brasília. He then began his incursion into design through the series he titled Occupy DF, which investigates the occupation of public or semi-public spaces, where existing structures, such as railings, facade elements, and urban furniture, can serve as supports for his "epiphytic pieces," whether temporary or permanent.
He now presents three new pieces designed for ETEL on the occasion of the 3rd edition of ABERTO, which honors the artistic legacy of his mother, architect Chu Ming Silveira.
