Carlos Motta

Carlos Motta studied architecture and started his work in furniture design in 1975. Only three years later, he opened Atelier Carlos Motta, building pieces that exemplify perfect ergonomics.

Ecology and respect for nature are in his very soul, and the designer is concerned with more than just the final result of his pieces. Carlos Motta is a true believer in sustainability, and prefers to use certified wood and reuse other materials, such as iron.

In 2012, ETEL launched the Atelier line, consisting of the reedition of thirteen pieces designed by Motta between 1970 and 2005. The chairs are considered icons of fine joinery, representative of his career as a designer.
