About

ETEL, a renowned Brazilian design manufacturer, has been creating iconic pieces of furniture for over 30 years. As a gallery and haute couture producer, ETEL has established itself as a prominent ambassador and publisher of Brazilian design across the globe.

With visionary leadership from two generations of women, including founder and designer Etel Carmona and CEO and curator Lissa Carmona, ETEL has gained a reputation for its exceptional wood construction, commitment to sustainability, and expert curation of designers. This dedication has helped elevate Brazilian design to a prominent position among the world's leading design schools.

The ETEL collection can be categorized into three main chapters: the past, present, and future. The past features reeditions of the greatest masters of modern design, while the present showcases the work of established contemporary designers. Finally, the future is represented by the next generation of designers who are beginning to make their mark.

Wood Couture

ETEL pieces are rare gems. Rare for a very simple reason: they are made from unique species and individuals. Plant, trunk, branch, or seed are also jewels for the value of its design, as well as for the individuality of each artisan's hand, for their construction, their finishing and the quality that is felt. The use of these rare qualities seeks to value what is naturally beautiful and beneficial, giving greater prominence to the work of nature and the human soul.

ETEL's intention has always been to materialize dreams and desires through the appreciation of man, nature and the art of woodworking, developed for over thirty years by the refined look and boldness of Etel Carmona combined with the exquisite engineering of master Moacir Tozzo.

Authenticity

ETEL reedition methodology is developed in a slow and affectionate process with the designer himself (as it was with Jorge Zalszupin and Sergio Rodrigues) or with the family heirs, Institutions or Foundations, to evoke with precision the forms and ideals embodied in every piece by its creator. With Etel Carmona excellence of construction, sensibility towards sustainability and Lissa Carmona’s commitment with the research, publication of books, lectures and partnerships with the heirs; Brazilian design reconquered its deserved recognition.

Today ETEL reedition collection comprehends names like: Oscar Niemeyer, Lina Bo Bardi, Jorge Zalszupin, Branco & Preto, Gregori Warchavchik, José Zanine Caldas, Paulo Werneck, among others, guaranteeing a fair wage to all parts involved, from production to the designer families and copyrights holders.  After your order, and once the production is finished, each piece is baptized with a DNA stamp and certificate - a number that traces its history, from the designer, year of creation, year of edition, the craftsman, to the client.
