When creating this piece, Lina was influenced by the rounded shapes seen both in the architecture of Niemeyer and in the organicism promoted by Rino Levi. ETEL’s reedition abides by the same production standards followed from when it was created, in 1948.

The only rocking chair created by the architect, it was produced in plywood cut standing up, one of the conceptual characteristics of the Studio's production.
The side cutouts made in a single piece reveal an innovative and thought-provoking design for the time.
With rare information, including about the project, the Rocking Chair was part of the set of pieces of furniture by Lina Bo Bardi republished by ETEL, the result of the partnership signed with Instituto Bardi in May 2015.
