This piece is a reinterpretation of Paulo Werneck’s work by his grandson, Gaspar Saldanha, in a partnership with ETEL. The shape of the Laranjeiras Tray, with its inclined borders, is inspired by an original design of Werneck’s – who used it as a work tool, to move his mosaics in his studio. The mosaic on this tray is based on an unreferenced design by Werneck. The piece is named after the district of Laranjeiras, in Rio, where Werneck lived and worked.
