PL 01 Armchair

In 1961, Percival Lafer unveiled his first furniture piece: the MP-01 armchair. Light and elegant, it conveyed a modernist vision, marked by the innovative combination of steel and wood in its structure, a clear reference to the logic of reinforced concrete, which similarly joins different materials in service of strength and form.

In Percival’s own words, “a thin piece of wood supports the furniture, because it has a steel soul.”

Percival Lafer’s collection began to be reissued in 2023 by ETEL, in close collaboration with the designer himself, who carefully reviewed the original sketches and construction details. The pieces previously identified by the MP prefix were renamed with the initials PL. In 2025, the PL01 was officially reissued by ETEL.
