PL 51 Armchair

With a solid wood frame, the PL51 — originally conceived as the MP-51 — combines loose foam cushions upholstered in leather, fabric, or suede. The arms and backrest, detached from the main body, fit precisely into the structural base. Its design explores straight and orthogonal lines, resulting in a piece of strong geometric discipline without compromising comfort. In this armchair, Percival Lafer exemplifies his affinity with the principles of modernism.

Percival Lafer’s collection began to be reissued in 2023 by ETEL, in close collaboration with the designer himself, who carefully reviewed the original drawings and plans. Pieces formerly identified by the MP prefix have adopted the PL designation. In 2025, the PL01 was officially reissued by ETEL.
