Queimadas coffee table

Queimada Coffee table is an experimental and poetic project that explores the power of fire to transform, and its ancestral relationship with ceramics. For the table top, the pieces were carefully shaped one by one, and after a first firing and application of the glaze, they come into direct contact with the fire through a technique called raku, a firing combined with a thermal shock, it cracks. its surface, which creates paths, passages or openings where the smoke leaves its marks, prints its paths and reaches its maximum beauty.
