Casa Bola, conceived from a provisional model installed atop his own house and studio. The initially precarious experiment made it possible to test the structural potential of the spherical form and to consolidate innovative techniques that would result in a singular residence. From a temporary canvas structure, the project evolved into a permanent construction in reinforced mortar—a lightweight and resistant material often used in the naval industry. This constructive logic extends to the interiors, where architecture and furniture share the same material and structural principles. The spatiality, marked by an essential aesthetic, predominantly white and devoid of ornament, reinforces the experimental and forward-looking character of the work.
More than a formal exercise, Casa Bola is configured as the materialization of an architectural hypothesis: a built utopia whose conceptual strength exceeds its physical dimension.
It is within this horizon that the Cadeirinha emerges—a lightweight piece, with refined lines and light tones, conceived in harmony with the scale and spatial demands of the house. Guided by the same principles of functionality and synthesis that structure the architecture, the chair responds to the requirements of a compact space, prioritizing practicality, constructive clarity, and dimensional suitability.
Reissued by ETEL in a special and limited edition of 89 pieces—a number that refers to the address of Casa Bola, at 2889 Av. Brig. Faria Lima—the piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Eduardo Longo.
