Capadocia Screen

The Capadocia Screen, named for a region in central Turkey, was a development of Carlos Vergara’s experience in Missões. This is also an area which carries the marks from various civilizations, and its ruins interested the artist as a pretext for his monotypes. The Islamic drawings that allude to another spiritual tradition have their potency concentrated in the stamps encapsulated in the monotypes.
